As the high school basketball season reaches its zenith with regional play and state tournament action starting next week, the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame is announcing a special admission offer to Hardin County residents.

Beginning today, the hall of fame will offer free admission to Hardin County residents through a month-long promotion conducted in conjunction with The News-Enterprise. Any person with a copy of the promotional advertisement and proof of residency in Hardin County will be admitted to the exhibit hall at no charge.

“We want the great basketball fans of the city and all of Hardin County to visit and enjoy this gem of a facility while they watch the thrills and excitement of the state girls’ and boys’ Sweet 16 and the NCAA tournaments,” said Paul Najjar, chief operating officer of the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame.

The attraction, which opened in August, is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. It occupies a former church building at 211 W. Dixie Ave., Elizabethtown, with the sanctuary serving as the primary exhibit hall.

In addition to relics, basketball trivia and interactive displays, the 100-member centennial class of the hall of fame is recognized. Honorees include Ron Bevars of North Hardin High School and Ray Vencill and Erin Boley of Elizabethtown High School.
