OUR VIEW: Event connects with varied audiences

In its sixth year, the BBQ, Blues and Bikes festival continues to grow and expand. Thousands enjoyed the Elizabethtown street fest last Saturday and it’s becoming a tradition for people from here and elsewhere.

Staged by the Elizabethtown Heritage Council, it does more than spotlight the historic downtown. It provides a top-flight signature event on a holiday weekend that brings guests to the city and generally leaves them with smiles and warm remembrances of their visit.

Since its inception, the motorcycle component of the event has been a highlight — and that’s still true. The Thunder Into E’town ride and burnout competitions are rare sights.
