April 6, 2018, Elizabethtown, Ky. - The City of Elizabethtown and the Veterans Tribute Group are pleased to announce the unveiling of the Vietnam Wall Replica that will be installed at the City of Elizabethtown Nature Park. The event will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 28.

“This Vietnam Wall Replica is proof that a few Vietnam Veterans united by a cause, can accomplish great things,” said Mayor Edna Berger. “What an honor that they chose Elizabethtown.”

The total length of the wall will be 360 feet; each wing 180 feet long and eight feet tall. It is a true representation of the Vietnam Wall in Washington D.C. and scaled to 80% in size. Patrons will be able to copy names off of the Wall with the rubbing method just as they can in D.C.

“Our goal is to provide a replica Vietnam Wall for those unable to make the trip to Washington D.C. A place where they are able to visit and find a way of reconnecting to those lost. It has been found that the Vietnam Wall can offer healing to those that served as well as those that lost family members. A place to reconnect with a lost friend or a loved one,” Veterans Tribute Group, Inc.

Parking for the dedication will not be permitted inside the Nature Park. However, parking with a shuttle will be located in the following locations:

Lakeside Worship Center, 1801 Ring Road
Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1701 Ring Road
