That special chill is in the air to let you know the Holiday season is here and well under way. Elizabethtown is officially lighting up for the season and you do not want to miss it! Elizabethtown's annual Christmas parade and tree lighting starts the weekend, then Saturday and Sunday there are wonderful events that are guaranteed to make your spirits bright. We broke it down so you know what's happening when!

Friday, December 1st

The annual Light Up Downtown Parade will begin at 7PM. The floats will take off near St. John Road on West Dixie, next to Roses shopping center and will end at Walker's Square. We recommend getting there a little early to claim your spot and grabbing a hot chocolate from Vibe Coffee. Following the parade, Mayor Gregory will read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas as the tree is lights up.

Christmas Parade for lighting up downtown in downtown Elizabethtown

Saturday, December 2nd

After enjoying an evening watching the parade, head back downtown on Saturday for a jam-packed day of holiday fun! Start your day off at the Historic State Theater for Breakfast with Santa.

After you fill up on breakfast with Mr. Claus, head over to the Brown Pusey House to experience Santa's workshop. The beautiful historic home is turned into a winter wonderland with festive decorations. Create crafts and enjoy refreshments from 10AM - 3PM, you may even get some help from Santa's Elves and reindeer!

Once you have gotten your fill of crafting in Santa's workshop you are going to want to head back to the Historic State Theater to watch The Polar Express. Don't worry about rushing around to watch this Christmas classic, there will be two showings at 1PM and 7PM. The State Theater will be showing Christmas movies all season long, find the complete list here.

Finally, time for the big moment - snapping pictures with the big man himself! Head to Walker Square between 5PM - 7PM to snap a pic with Mr. Claus and give him your wishlist. The Santa House experience is completely free but you're going to want to bring your phone to snap your own pics! If you run out of time on Saturday, don't worry, The Santa House will be back in Walker Square on Sunday, December 3rd from 5-7PM.
