Hometown Teams at The Lincoln Museum
The Smithsonian's Hometown Teams comes to Hodgenville, Kentucky. The traveling exhibit opens as the town celebrates its 200th Anniversary in 2018.
Hometown Teams is a free and accessible exhibit that explores the way sports build and unite communities. The enthusiasm and dedication of fans, athletes and coaches bonds us across time, cultures, generations and geography.
The Lincoln Museum, in cooperation with Kentucky Humanities, will celebrate this connection as it hosts "Hometown Teams: How Sports Shape America", a traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian's Museum on Main Street Program. Hometown Teams is open now through February 24, 2018.
The exhibit includes colorful, kid-friendly displays, photographs, audio and video clips and hands-on components. Hometown Teams features content developed by the Smithsonian - as well as jerseys, trophies, and sports memorabilia curated from local sports enthusiasts, clubs, schools and teams.
The exhibit will be at The Lincoln Museum from January 13 through February 24, 2018.
