In the summer and fall, Hardin County is full of festivals.

Many already have taken place this season, but there still are plenty left in the year, even extending into Christmas.

August features a homecoming gathering for Cecilia natives and for the entire county.

Cecilia Days is one of the oldest celebrations in the county and the Heartland Homecoming Parade in Elizabethtown has continued to transition through the years.

“It’s important to have the Heartland Homecoming Parade for the town because it’s a long standing tradition for everyone,” Elizabethtown Events Coordinator Sarah Vaughn said. “This parade is in its 35th year and still running strong.”
