Elizabethtown will celebrate Kentucky wine Sept. 23 at Freeman Lake Park with Toast of Kentucky: Elizabethtown’s Premier Wine Festival.

“The city and Elizabethtown Tourism are hoping this event not only brings in more tourism, but also wants to add more and more events to the schedule as often as possible,” said Sarah Vaughn, city events coordinator. “This will be the first wine festival held in E’town ever and we’re hoping that this event continues for years to come.”

When it was decided to end the Heartland Festival, Vaughn said closing that door would open a door to better events.

“This is one of those times,” she said. “I couldn’t be more excited about this and what it means for E’town. We are truly thinking outside the box on this one and it’s been so much fun.”
