Local Haunts
Things start off really strong on October 3 with the Morrison Lodge Masonic Haunted House. Take a trip through a haunted Masonic Lodge and hear stories of Etown's past in a ghoulish way. This haunted house will be open every Saturday night from October 3 until October 31, and will give you a night full of ghost stories and family-fun. Tickets are $5, and this is such a great way to get into the Halloween spirit. The haunts don't stop there, though! On October 23 & 24, the Hardin County Playhouse will be bringing the spooks on their annual Ghost Walk. This event takes guests through tales of Elizabethtown's history as you walk through Downtown and listen to ghost stories of days before. If you're interested in haunts and history, this is for you. Also happening from October 24 until November 1, is the Haunted Trail at The Last House on Springhurst. This nightly self-guided trail is filled with ghoulishly good times and makes for the perfect addition to your itinerary.
Spooky Movies
Movie lovers, this next one is for you! The State Theater is bringing back their spooky movie series. That's right, every Friday and Saturday night at 7pm from October 9 until October 24, you can catch your favorite Halloween classics for just $3. Here's the line up:
October 9 - The Nightmare before Christmas
October 10 - Ghostbusters
October 16 - The Ring
October 17 - Hocus Pocus
October 23 - Casper
October 24 - The Ghost and Mr. Chicken
More Halloween & Fall Fun
In the spirit of Halloween, Heartland Mini Golf and Cosmic Golf will be holding Halloween parties on October 30 & October 31 that will be filled with music, costumes, drinks, mini golf and nights full of fun. You won't want to miss these. But wait, there's more! October is also filled with vendor fairs like Nolin River Wildlife Fall Vendor Fair October 10, and Glendale Days on October 17, because what goes better with fall than shopping, right?
