We love summer around here in Etown. Like, really, love summer. There's simply nothing better than an afternoon by the pool soaking in the sun, a night at Tavern In The Garden with a drink in hand or having a time at Freeman Lake with some great music. Sadly, though, all good things must come to an end. I know, I know! I hate to be the bearer of bad news, so for now, I'll give you my awesome and exciting list of the things you must do that won't be around come fall (when other great things show up).

The American Legion Water Park

There is just something about relaxing by the pool on a hot summer day, and the American Legion Water Park is the place to do it. Equipped with a pool, splash pad, lazy river, slides and more, the water park has "ideal summer day" written all over it. There is no better way to soak in the last few days of summer break than letting the kids hit the splash pad while you lounge by the pool savoring the sun. The park will close for the season in early August, so be sure to get in one final splash!

A Thursday Downtown

There are two events that scream “summer” here in Etown – and those are Tavern In The Garden, and the Charles W. Logsdon Historic Downtown Walking Tour. These two iconic events take place each Thursday night. “Tavern” (as it’s known to us locals) features drinks and live music in the beautiful Cunningham Garden at the Brown-Pusey House from 6pm-9pm (added treat - it's easy access to the downtown restaurants if you need a bite). This event lasts until September 25, and trust me, you want to make it out at least once. The Walking Tour is a completely free walk down Etown’s memory lane. It features history, acting, costumes and a whole lot of learning (walking too… so it’s a great way to get your steps in!) This event starts at 7pm right under the cannonball on Public Square, and the last night to catch it during the 2025 season is September 4.

A Night at the Bandstand

Let me paint a picture: you, lawn chair, beer, good vibes and great music. Sounds like a good setup, right? Well, you can find this on August 13 & September 10 at the Freeman Lake Bandstand. The Lawn Parties at the Freeman Lake Bandstand are free concerts and there is always a time to be had. Between music, food trucks, drinks and fun, this has "must-do" written all over it. Grab your crew, bring a seat and get ready to jam-out and have a blast in a quintessentially-Etown way.
