Nothing says "fall" in Elizabethtown, KY quite like the Heartland Harvest Fest. It's got fishing tournaments, pumpkin decorating, shopping, live music and that doesn't even begin to scratch the surface! I'm here to help you plan your itinerary so you can have the best day ever.
Make the Best of the Fest
There's no better way to start the day than spending some time in the great outdoors. The morning begins bright and early with a 5k at the Elizabethtown Nature Park, where you'll be able to spend the run (or walk) soaking in the beautiful scenery of the park. If a 5k isn't really your vibe, there is still some outdoor fun for you, too. At Freeman Lake Park, you'll find the Ron Thomas Memorial Fishing Tournament and Fishing Derby, where you can cast a line and get a lakeside start to the day. In addition to the outdoor fun, the Elizabethtown Women's Club will be hosting their annual Women's Club of Elizabethtown Breakfast at the Pritchard Community Center at 8am. Such a great way to get the day going before the Downtown fun kicks off.
Speaking of downtown, there's a whole day of fall festivities waiting for you! New this year, you can head over to David May's Pumpkin Patch and make your very own pumpkin as part of your festival fun. Just stop by Etown Tourism at 201 North Main Street from 10am until 2pm, grab a pumpkin and start decorating. Tourism will provide the decor and the pumpkins, you just bring your creativity.
Want to see some classic Corvettes while you're at it? Good news, you're in luck! There will be a free Corvette-only cruise-in from 10am until 2pm at Southeast Christian Church (located at 600 N. Dixie Avenue) where you can see Corvette car galore. After you've made your pumpkin and checked out some cars, there's even more Downtown fun waiting for you.
Alright y'all, as if your festival day couldn't get better, it's about to. Downtown Etown is bringing you an afternoon that is jam-packed with so much to do and see. Along the streets, you'll find tons of vendors and food trucks, because what's a good festival without a little shopping and eating? Then, take the kiddos and check out the petting zoo, play zone and so much more. We hear Quicksie is also hosting The Quicksie Great Pumpkin Battle, where you can check out some really awesome pumpkins. It really is the ideal way to spend an afternoon!
In addition to all of the other Harvest Fest fun, the day is filled with music! There will be a DJ throughout the day, then, at 3 o'clock, the concert line up kicks off with Kevin Jaggers starting the party behind the Hardin County Justice Center. Following Kevin Jaggers, The Crashers will perform their set to keep the good vibes going, and, to wrap up the evening, enjoy a performance by Little Texas that'll make for the perfect end to a great day.
