There’s nothing like a long holiday weekend, and I am here to tell you how to make the most out of yours! Whether you’re on the go or you like to keep it chill, Labor Day Weekend is best spent right here in Etown.

Your Gear Is Here

I don't know about y'all, but my family loves a good competition, and a long weekend is the best excuse to get out and show everyone who's boss (in a friendly way, of course). Your Gear Is Here is an awesome way to try out new games, work on your tennis arm and just have fun. There is no greater way to spend the weekend than loading up the fam, heading over to Freeman Lake or the American Legion Park, grabbing some gear and having a ball with your crew. With Your Gear Is Here, you’ll find equipment for pickleball, tennis, fishing and more. Disclaimer: I am NOT responsible for what is said when things really heat up (I do hear that people who read the blog tend to win more. Just sayin'). Just bring your ID and get to playing!

Explore Downtown

Downtown Elizabethtown is bursting at the seams with activity, and a holiday weekend is the perfect excuse to take advantage. Start your weekend early (we can’t blame you) and enjoy Tavern in the Garden and the Walking Tour on Thursday night, and stroll around town with a Hub cup in hand. While you're at it, take yourself to the shops or stop for a bite at one of the great dining spots and have a night! The options downtown are endless and it's a great place to spend the weekend.

Get Outside

I know I already mentioned Freeman Lake with the Your Gear Is Here program, but it is also a great way to soak in the wilderness, along with the Elizabethtown Nature Park. Both parks have tons of greenspace to have a picnic and soak in some rays, and they each have trails where you can get your steps in and enjoy the view. If you're in the mood to explore and learn a little something while you're at it, they also feature cool historic spots, like the Lincoln Heritage House at Freeman Lake or the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Wall at the Nature Park.

No matter how you spend your holiday, we hope you’ll find yourself enjoying all Etown has to offer – there is truly a vibe for everyone. Share your plans with us at #touretown, happy weekending!
