TIM WALKER FOUNDERS' DAY 5K WALK/RUN

Wake up bright and early the morning of the 4th for a flag-waving 5k at the Elizabethtown Sports Park! The race honors Tim Walker, late mayor of Elizabethtown and original Founders' Day organizer, by bringing families together in Elizabethtown to celebrate the birth of the city and nation. The event is free for children 10 & under, but registration is required for each participant before the morning of the race. Register now to get your patriotic heart pumping!

REVOLUTIONARY WAR MEMORIAL

Take time to recognize the patriots of Hardin County at the American Revolution Patriots Memorial at Freeman Lake Park. The memorial is located near the park’s tennis courts and office and consists of a 6-foot high obelisk that sits on a granite base. Only the names of those patriots from the original Hardin County boundaries are engraved on the monument. While visiting, take in Freeman Lake Park's many trails, nearby playground, and relaxing atmosphere!

PAPPAW'S BBQ & MORE

There's no better way to celebrate Independence Day than with classic flavors from Pappaw's, and they're serving more than just BBQ this 4th of July! A full music lineup featuring Kevin Jaggers and Layla Spring, a classic car show, and fireworks display take over Pappaw's BBQ & More for a 4th you'll never forget! Veterans and service members eat free all day, and donations raised will go to Tails & ta-tas.

HEARTLAND MINI GOLF

Yard games are a must when it comes to any 4th of July get together, which is what makes Heartland Mini Golf the perfect place for patriotic fun! The game yard features a plethora of fun-tastic options like cornhole, ping pong, bocce ball, and more! These games are completely free while you wait for you turn at their 18-hole course or as a way to continue the fun after your mini golf game.

FOUNDERS' DAY FIREWORKS

End the evening with breathtaking fireworks show! Our city is lucky enough to share to a birthday with the nation, and that's worth celebrating! The City of Elizabethtown will be shooting off fireworks at Elizabethtown Community & Technical College after the sun sets the night of the 4th, around 10:00pm. Parking at University Dr begins at 7pm. Be sure to tune into Quicksie 98.3, 94.3 the Wolf, or KMO 99.3 for an awesome soundtrack to go with the display!
